My very first attempt at creating this series of large scale paintings was birthed out of a passionate desire to literally throw paint onto the surface and manipulate the paint with strong, gestural, spontaneous sweeps with a large spreading tool.

In some cases, the supports were so large I had to throw and roll myself along the edge to complete the flow of the movement.

Each painting employs a great deal of risk as I only have one shot at getting the painting ‘right’ first time.
