The tragic death of my daughter in April, 2015 left me floundering in my art practice. Confused and debilitated, with a previously booked exhibition looming, I threw myself into the creation of ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ exhibition, a series of exotic, vibrant, brightly coloured birds with the intent of portraying the absolute freedom a bird experiences, flying high above pain, addiction and depression.
Just as we are completely unique individuals, with our own unique characteristics, each painting portrays the personality of the particular bird in the painting.
