It all began on a balmy, sunny day when I ventured out for the first time with the Mandurah Plein Air Group.
Too nice to be inside my studio, I embraced this new way of painting outdoors, (with much difficulty I might add), and thoroughly enjoyed the company of the other members.
After painting large scale, abstracted works for the interior design and architectural markets, this proved a real challenge.
I enrolled in a year - long master class with renowned Plein air painter, Mr. Leon Holmes which has vastly improved my painting ability and versatility. The discipline required to render these small, representational studies has been such a significant benefit to my painting practice.
